Table settings will be judged at the event for Best of Show and three design categories:

  • Most Innovative (the unique use of materials) 
  • Most Viable Concept (functional, practical design) 
  • Most Creative (best implementation of the theme)

Best of Show will be decided by a total of points which will be given for certain criteria including:

CORRECTNESS – 25 points

All table settings shall be checked by the judges for the adherence to official table setting standards         (placement of elements, types of items used, appropriateness to menu etc.)


This will include the overall appearance of the table including general appearance of the items used,     (flatware, glassware, table cloths, etc), cleanliness of surroundings, appearance of entrant etc.


The originality of the representation of the theme, adherence to the theme, material used 

VISUAL APPEAL – 15 points

The visual appeal of the setting, use of colours etc.

PEOPLES CHOICE – 10 points

This will be taken from the Facebook promotion. The total number of votes will be added and the ratio determined for each person will determine the points awarded from a total of 10 points

ATTENDEE VOTE – 10 points

Attending patrons will vote for their favorite design during the event on Sunday between 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Attendees will each be issued one voting slip which they will put in the voting box of their choice.  An independent panel will count the slips to determine the winners.
Once again the points will be determined based on the ratio system out of a total of 10 points.  

The judging will take place during the event on Sunday, May 25, 2014. Three assigned judges will submit their results using the criteria above. These points will be added to People’s Choice and the Attendee Vote to determine the winners in the Best of Show.  The design awards will be given based on combined votes of judges and attendees.

All winners will be announced at the end of the tastings on Sunday May 25, 2014  at 6:00 pm
